Pelee Island Bird Observatory (PIBO) is an internationally recognized NGO devoted to the study and observation of migratory birds and the preservation of their natural habitats on Pelee Island.
PIBO's Mandate:
To highlight the importance of Pelee Island’s unique natural heritage.To conduct long-term migration monitoring research on Pelee Island as a member of the Canadian Migration Monitoring Network (CMMN).To serve as an educational centre for the public, school organisations and the community, and to promote volunteer participation in local conservation projectsTo conduct long-term studies of Pelee’s significant breeding bird communities.
